Lovely Daffodils
Pairing several of the artist’s favorite passions to paint, this scene highlights a well-known Lowcountry landscapes (U Pick Daffodil field, Bluffton, SC), filled with bright blossoms of daffodils in their spring bloom, adorned with Lovely’s signature figure, “Fair Women.” Lovely has described of her portfolio the propensity to paint women gathering and men hunting. The personality of the gatherers in this image were as much the artist’s goal to capture as the field and foliage.
