Harbour Town Lighthouse
If you’ve been to Harbour Town on Hilton Head Island South Carolina, you know this iconic image, and can attest that Lovely’s scene captures the feel of being there. If you haven’t visited HHI, the artist welcomes you through this canvas to discover the feel of this outpost on the island’s “South End” (Sea Pines Resort). The wide, whitewash boats underscored and outlined by a structural, coastal blue stand sentinel to the centerpiece, HHI’s candy-striped lighthouse, adorned with a crown of American flags, and highlights of yellow reflecting touches of sunlight. This “marina-scape” is completed in a simple palette of reds, whites, greens, and blues, and invites the viewer to imagine the sight, sound, and scent of the Harbour traffic buoyantly standing by at island’s end.
