A proverbial companion piece to her painting Good and Lovely Home, this image features the artist’s personal pets and regular models Mack and Hamilton. To maintain the integrity of “painting from life,” Lovely included the open closet door, and general packing or unpacking disarray, and the sweet sentiment seen here of beloved dogs who, when packing want to come with, and when unpacking are glad you’re home.
