Orange Chill
This scene takes place on the sands of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. “Orange Chill” is a large in-studio creation from the original smaller in size “The Study”: a plein air on this famous Hilton Head Island beach. Lovely describes starting with “a small study from a day on the beach with paints,” and challenged herself with “how big can I paint it?” The size of the larger acrylic is perhaps the best delivery of the rows of reverberating orange, offset by the cool blues of ocean, sky, and beach accessories. Screaming of summer senses in the upscale island resort setting, this image was first captured seaside at the Sea Pines Beach Club. This painting currently resides in the French Bakery & European Cuisine restaurant in Shelter Cove, Hilton Head Island and is available for purchase.
