Art Exhibition at the Onyx Hotel
WHAT: Having recently been voted one of the Top 100
Sexiest Hotels by Sexy, Inc. and Sky Radio, the Onyx Hotel, in
collaboration with Boston’s venerable Copley Society of art, presents
Fashion: Style Throughout History. Fashion is an ever-changing way
of life that is constantly affected by attitudes, technology, and the
media. This art exhibition details the many faces of fashion by
depicting style trends and fashion icons through the eyes of Copley
Society artists Mark Chester, John Krenik, Candace Lovely, Allison
Nickerson, and Ellen Rolli. The collection ranges from a portrait of
Marilyn Monroe to images of clothing trends, cosmetics and
accessories. A collection of 16 works will be for sale in a variety
of price ranges and displayed in the Hotel’s lobby and penthouse.

MORE: Like the onyx stone, artists take in the world and
reflect it back from a deep origin in their imaginations. Since
opening in May 2004, the Onyx Hotel has remained committed to
emerging
artists and its collaboration with the Copley Society of art to host
exhibitions by local and emerging artists that reflect Boston’s
culture, history and rich traditions.
Copley Society of art, the oldest non-profit art association in the
United States, represents more than 600 artist members nationwide.
Co|So is dedicated to fostering interest in the visual arts through
member exhibitions, educational outreach programs, workshops,
lectures
and the advancement of the careers of emerging and young artists.
Sale proceeds will benefit the artists and Copley Society.
